EBS opens a branch in Helsinki

International university Estonian Business School opens a branch in Helsinki this fall. The goal of the branch is to offer Finnish students a possibility to study International Business Administration in English based on EBS distance learning program.

According to Urmas Arumäe, the Head of EBS Helsinki Branch it is firstly planned to start with one Bachelor studies group in Finland. „This fall, we are planning to start with the first 25-member Bachelor level distance learning group, who study International Business Administration in English, specializing on marketing and public relations. The lectures are mainly held in Helsinki, once in a semester also in Tallinn,“ said Arumäe. According to him the next step is to launch a Masters’ program in Helsinki, so that EBS Finnish students could continue their studies at home.

EBS Rector Peeter Kross said that the target group of EBS in Helsinki are Finnish students to whom International Business Administration is the first choice in continuing their studies but who are not able to study abroad due to the work or family related duties. “Already in 1998, when EBS opened its first International Business Administration program fully taught in English, there were Finnish students among the applicants. In the last years the Finnish students interest in EBS has been constantly growing – 72 Fins are studying in EBS at the moment and there are already up to 50 candidates who are applying for the studies in EBS for the next academic year,” explained Kross the decision to create EBS Helsinki branch.
