The program of visit included meetings with the QS Managing Director for Asia, Middle East and Africa and the management of the National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University. Among other issues the participants discussed the important role of innovation in school education for achievement of TIMSS* and PISA** results in Singapore, the system of teaching staff training for all academic levels, as well as the goals of international ratings and participation of Kazakhstan HEIs in QS rating. The issues of strategic planning and corporate management in higher education institutions caused particular interest and heated discussion during meetings with the Presidents of Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University. On individual sessions participants discussed the role of the Board of Trustees in higher education institutions; in particular they looked into main functions and activities of the Board, its management and operational procedure.

During this visit a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by International Academy of Business and Singapore Management University.

IAB President and Rector also met with the President of University of Technology in Malaysia (UTM) to exchange information on activity of the two higher education institutions and sign a partnership agreement.

Summarizing the results of the visit IAB President A. Kozhakhmetov recognized the importance of partnership with Asian universities as part of the Academy’s internationalization policy and expressed his hope for further development of joint educational projects with aforementioned universities.
