SUCCESS OF THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONFERENCE "THEORY AND PRACTICE: STUDENT INSIGHTS"

On November 13, 2014, the 3rd International Student Conference "Theory and Practice: Student Insights“ took place in Kaunas, Lithuania. The conference was organized by Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) and Kolping University of Applied Sciences. SC "Linas" and JSC "Selita" ir Ko sponsored this big international event. This Conference gathered the great attention of students in Lithuania and foreign countries and it attracted more than 150 students, who participated in the event.

The international bachelor student conference was an exceptional event which allowed students‘ to develop their abilities of applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills by analyzing different subjects in various topics such as young specialists’ role in development of law thought,  the importance of social work studies in a modern society, challenges for business in terms of uncertainty, the art of learning languages. This conference also provided an opportunity for Lithuanian and foreign students to meet each other, share experiences, ideas, and get a lot of experience for participation in other research events.

During the plenary session presentations were made by the Principal of Kolping University of Applied Sciences, Mrs. Lina Kalibataite and the President of Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) and Dean of Adizes Graduate School (USA), Dr. Virginijus Kundrotas.  The Students of Kolping University of Applied Sciences shared their experience that gained during Erasmus studies in Malta and Denmark.  

This year students prepared 30 presentations in 4 work groups and the best presentations and articles were selected:

-In the work group “The Challenges for Business Community during the Time of Uncertainty” the best presentation award was nominated to Kristina Šaltenė (Vilnius University of Applied Sciences) for presentation „Profile of Young Bank Client“. The best article award was nominated to Mantas Didžiulis (Vilnius University) for article “JSC BALTNETA Company Financial and Market Value”.

-In the work group “The Importance of Social Work Studies in Modern Society: Student Experience and Prospect” the best presentation award was nominated to Lina Jaraitė (Kaunas University of Technology) for presentation “The Influence of Animation on the Development of a Child”. The best article award was nominated to Milda Šemeklytė (Kolping University of Applied Sciences) for article “Possibilities for the Application of Occupational Therapy in Day Activity Centres”.

-In the work group “The Role of Young Specialist in Development of Law” the best presentation award was nominated to Aivaras Stasytis and Rimvydas Češkevičius (The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy Of Lithuania) “Coscript or Professional Army?”. The best article award was nominated to  Julius Simanonis (Kolping University of Applied Sciences) for article “Health Care Provider Liability Features”.

-In the work group “The Art of Learning Languages” the best presentation award was nominated to Eromosele Favour Ojiemudia (Kaunas University of Applied Science) for the presentation “Language Learning Tourism: A Pathway To Improved International Relations”.

More than 20 articles were published in the Conference book “Theory and Practice: Student Insights.”  

The best article of the Conference was announced: “JSC BALTNETA Company Financial and Market Value” written by Mantas Didžiulis.
