THE FINAL DAY OF 19TH ANNUAL BMDA CONFERENCE
On 8th of October, the 19th Annual BMDA Conference has been closed. The second conference day was dedicated for the business schools. Also, new association members were welcomed becoming members of international BMDA family. Also BMDA president delivered BMDA significant impact and innovativeness awards to BMDA members.
The second conference day has been opened with the 1st Panel “Business Schools’ experience”, were the leaders of Business schools’ were invited to share their insights based on their experience how they dealt with the uncertain situation in their institutions.
The session has been attended by prof. Enn Listra – Dean of School of Business and Governance, TalTach (Estonia), prof. Sherif Kamel - Dean of School of Business at the American University in Cairo (Egypt), Dr. Assylbek Kozhakhmetov - Founder and President of Almaty Management University and lead by the moderator of the panel - Dr. Timothy S. Mescon - V.P. and Chief Officer- Europe, Middle East and Africa, AACSB International (The Netherlands). The discussion gave participants space to think how does happiness effect the success in life and how it can be used leading business school. Also panelists were invited to share their experience what has been done on systematic level in order to prevent burnout and create a culture of mental health and wellness for the faculty.
The second panel explored “Faculty research findings, consulting experiences and student experiences”. The panel was moderated by prof. Araksya Myrakyan - Professor at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow (MSU) (Russia). The participants of the second panel were: prof. Inga Minelgaitė Professor at University of Iceland (Iceland), who delivered a speech “Empowerment: to prescribe or not to prescribe?", Prof Rajesh K Pillania, MDI, Gurgaon- Strategy the professor, Ex-Harvard Asia Fellow, Leading Research-Based Happiness Movement in India, (India) with the speech “Mastering New Reality with Happiness, Prof. Liga Peiseniece- Rector of BA School of Business and Finance and Jana Strogonova - Co-owner of Growing Ltd, business trainer and consultant (Latvia) spoke about emotions expression among academic community questioning “ How do we talk about emotions in the academic environment?”
The newly joined member of BMDA - Brno University of Technology Faculty of Business and Management, has been officially welcomed to BMDA by BMDA president Viginijus Kundrotas. Also, during the session, BMDA president delivered BMDA awards for BMDA members, whose applications had been approved by BMDA Board.
• Innovativeness Award has been delivered to Gdansk University of Technology- for their MBA Program
• Significant impact Award has been delivered to BA School of Business and Finance - for Financial literacy promotion (National level)
• Significant impact Award has been delivered to Almaty Management University - for managerial competences development in Central Asia -at the Regional level
19th Annual BMDA Conference participants were invite to have practical session delivered by Mr. Vasco Gaspar from Portugal, who is an international author, speaker and facilitator that curates science-based methodologies to create safe spaces for people to manifest their true potential.
The final panel has been dedicated to the Associations experience, where the leaders of international management associations had been invited to share their insights and discuss associations’ role helping their members coping with challenges. The panel was moderated by BMDA President dr. Virginijus Kundrotas and attended by prof. Danica Purg - President of the IEDC-Bled School of Management and President of International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies – CEEMAN, Mr. Manuel Ortiz de Zevallos - Executive director at The Latin American Council of Management Schools – CLADEA (Peru), prof. Grafton Whyte - Chair of AABS – African Association of Business Schools, Director of Namibia Business School, Namibia (Africa), Prof. Antonio Freitas, former President of ANGRAD.
The day was finalized by closing keynote speech “Competitive Landscape Of Management Education in CIA (China, India, America) by the chairman of the Conference dr. Dpak. C Jain - President (European) and Professor of Marketing at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai (China).
Also, the dean the host istitution of 20th Annual BMDA Conference – prof. Edita Gimžauskienė - Dean of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Economics and Business (EVF) (Lithuania), has announced the upcoming Annual BMDA Conference will take place In October, 2022 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
