The Speakers of the 11th Annual BMDA Conference
Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) is pleased to announce the speakers for the 11th Annual BMDA conference "The Role of Management Empowering Innovations and Creativity" which will take place on 9-10 May 2013 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
The speakers for the 11th Annual BMDA conference:
Prof. Peter Lorange (Switzerland)
Prof. Peter Lorange is the owner and the president of the Lorange Institute of Business and one of the world’s foremost business school academics. For 15 years, he was the President of IMD, Lausanne, one of Europe’s leading business schools. Mr. Lorange is Professor of Strategy at IMD and holds the Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Chair of International Shipping. In addition to his academic background, Mr. Lorange has gained extensive shipping know-how as director on several shipping company boards. Moreover, he has written or edited twenty books and some 120 article. His area of special interest is global strategic management, strategic planning and entrepreneurship for growth.
Prof. David K. Hurst (USA)
Prof. David K. Hurst is a speaker, consultant, writer, and management educator with extensive experience as a senior executive and an encyclopedic knowledge of management thought. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Regina’s Graduate School of Business, associated with the Center for Creative Leadership, and a contributing editor at Strategy+Business. He is also the author of Crisis & Renewal: Meeting the Challenge of Organizational Change. David Hurst has a unique knowledge of organizations—their function and their failure—both in theory and in practice. He has spent twenty-five years as an operating manager, often in crises and turnaround conditions, and is also a widely experienced consultant, teacher, and writer on business.
Dr. Soumodip Sarkar (Portugal)
Dr. Soumodip Sarkar is a noted economist and management researcher. He is an associate professor at the Department of Management, university of Evora, Portugal, where he is the Dean of the Doctoral School (IIFA). Previously he was the Director for the Centre of Advanced Studies in Management and Economics, as well as the coordinator of the Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Professor Sarkar is considered one of the top 100 experts on the managment and economics of innovation by the World Economic Forum (WEF Innovation 100).
Mr. Lauri Koponen (Finland)
Mr. Lauri Koponen is Sales Director at ACME Europe. ACME Europe is a leading company for 15 years in the Eastern and Central Europe offering innovative solutions in the categories of computer accessories, small home appliances and lighting markets. During the 11th Annual BMDA Conference Mr. Lauri Koponen will make the presentation on the topic "The Role of Management and Leadership Empowering Sustainable Innovations".
